Tired of nature shots yet?
I've tried some lighting effects on PS for the first time. I don't think I was entirely successful... Suggestions welcome.
*********** EDIT: I'm posting a much less saturated version, bordering on B & W. Maybe this works better?

Hmmm...I'd try moving in closer to capture less of the tree. Then apply whatever effects you want to create a more abstract image.

@Daniel: That's good advice! I regret not spending a little more time getting different shots, but I was about to freeze to death at that point (o_o) Maybe next time!
i agree with daniel, but in this shot i think if you bring the highlights down a touch it might change the atmosphere - they seem a little on the bright side .. still, an interesting shot and the title gives a nice direction!

@jc: Mm, point well taken.
I agree with the two previous comments, and would add that this image may work better in black and white. The texture potential is quite high.
