Cy from United StatesI like the jacket on the left, and the out of focus movie in the center. The jacket seems to transform from an orderly zipper to a wild mane.... with cute hearts! The out of focus movie seems to really make the jacket and the chair on the right seem more real... in contrast to the fuzzy fictional movie ;P 19 Jan 2007 6:44am @Cy: Let's hope it was a fictional movie! I was watching "Children of Men" that night. Still from Valence, FranceThat is a wonderful image! i like how you've take this shot. The light and the mood make it very attractive! 19 Jan 2007 8:53am @Still: Thanks. I did work on the tone a bit. I think the light was mostly thanks to the lights they had on in the theater during the commercials. jc from Tokyo, Irelandhey evelyn, i've just now caught up with this series - i love it. the interesting perspectives, processing, and light give it a wonderful sense of mood and, as you say, texture. great stuff 19 Jan 2007 9:37am @jc: Hi jc! Glad you're liking it. This series business is a lot of fun! @Martine Lapointe: Merci Beaucoup! Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaA unique shot, I like how the focus is on the actual cinema and not the film. I also like the feeling of anonimity that the people seated in front of you give, sometimes your staring at the back of these people heads for over 2 hours yet you don't know what they look like. Nice colour treatment too! 19 Jan 2007 11:08pm @Chris Sullivan: Yes, I'm always having to stare at them because I'm short! Haha. j. coleman miller from Houston, United StatesYour work is very cool, contemporary and interesting. Great Portfolio! 19 Jan 2007 11:37pm @j. coleman miller: Thanks, j. coleman! I'm guessing you are a graphic artist? @Stu: Doumo! I had a feeling it was date night for these kids...hehe, maybe that atmosphere made it through in the picture. Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaLove this one. Great depiction of the feeling of going to a movie. Surprised you weren't thrown out what with all the warnings these days about piracy yada yada yada... 21 Jan 2007 4:24pm @Damon Schreiber: Haha, good point. It was during the advertisement section before the previews (the screen in the shot actually shows a preview for the Sopranos going to A & E), so I guess no one cared. But really, I didn't get any warnings or anything...so maybe the theater was just too big, and they didn't care. If this is what their security is like, no wonder you can get everything illegally online nowadays. Nick Chase from Santa Rosa, California, United StatesNice image...pretty unique, I havent seen too many pictures of the inside of the movie theatre. You should look up Hiroshi Sujimoto...he did a series of images that were exposed for the entire length of a movie. Interesting concept. 25 Jan 2007 4:56pm @Nick Chase: Actually, he's one of my heroes! I saw an exhibit of his at Mori Art Museum in Tokyo last year and loved it. |
